Gold Class Collision

Professional Recognition for your Business

The I-CARĀ® Gold Classā„¢ designation is the highest role-relevant training accreditation recognised by the collision repair industry in Australia. Ā The I-CAR Professional Development Program provides collision repair and insurance businesses with a reliable training framework for acquiring Gold Class and maintaining the up-to-date knowledge and skills that contribute to compliant repairs, improved business performance and risk reduction.

A ‘technical tsunami’ is approaching for the collision repair industry. Ā In the past two years, more than 200 new vehicles and redesigns have debuted, many with new lightweight vehicle materials and advanced safety systems that have changed the nature of collision repairs. Up-to-date training is becoming increasingly important for consumer safety and business survival. The Gold Class program prepares your business to meet the challenges of this ongoing technological change.

For a repair facility to be eligible for the Gold Class program, it must disclose all employees and accurately define their job roles. To earn the Gold Class recognition, businesses must achieve and maintain a high level of role-specific training across each of the major collision repair roles. A repair facility must identify a technician in each of these roles who has achieved I-CARĀ® Platinum Individualā„¢ recognition, earned through I-CAR and Industry Training Alliance accreditation. All other employees directly involved in the repair of vehicles must complete four training points.

To earn the Gold Class recognition, businesses must achieve and maintain a high level of role-specific training across each of the major collision repair roles.

In businesses with fewer than ten employees, one technician may be nominated to be the representative for dual roles.

Maintaining Your Designation

To maintain Gold Class, an organisation must continue to develop the knowledge and skills of its staff to advanced levels by progressing through the ProLevelsĀ® of I-CAR’s Professional Development Programā„¢. Ā By becoming Gold Class, you demonstrate to your customers, your staff and the industry that your business is committed to the highest standards of professionalism.

Other non I-CARĀ® Platinum Individualā„¢ employees must have completed a minimum of 4 training recognition points to be eligible for I-CARĀ® Gold Class Professionalā„¢ recognition. Ā The program recognises businesses in the collision industry for achieving a high level of technical training through both I-CARĀ® and Industry Training Alliance partners.
